Bianchetto, Rosso e Vagliagli

On Saturday, March 9, in Vagliagli, a few kilometers from Siena, there will be the first edition of Bianchetto, Rosso e Vagliagli, an event based on two excellences of the Chianti Classico area: the Marzuolo Truffle, or Tartufo Bianchetto, a specialty of our hills, and the Chianti Classico DOCG, from Vagliagli, a historic territory particularly suited to viticulture.

The Program

The day will begin with a truffle hunt, a walk to be held at 11 a.m. and run by experienced local environmental guides, around Vagliagli, near Siena.

Starting at 11 a.m., it will be possible to buy and taste truffles, taste Chianti Classico DOCG from the subzone of Vagliagli, and try dishes from the best restaurateurs in the area.

From 5 p.m., the new truffle harvesting regulations will be discussed at the Vagliagli Sporting Club, in which important guests will speak:

– Elena Salerni: University of Siena, Department of Life Sciences, truffle expert;

– Dr. Monica Coletta: agronomist Biodistretto del Chianti;

– Dott.sa Francesca Baglioni Tuscany Region official sector Forestation,

– Agroenvironment, Water Resources in Agriculture, Climate Change;

– Paolo Valdambrini president of the Associazione Tartufai Senesi.

The event will conclude with a 7:30 p.m. white truffle dinner by reservation at the Polisportiva di Vagliagli.


The event is sponsored by the municipality of Castelnuovo Berardenga, and features the collaboration of the Associazione Camminando a Quercegrossa, the Associazione Tartufai Senesi and the Polisportiva di Vagliagli.


Useful information

The truffle hunt will begin at 11 a.m., along with the opening of the food and wine stands. Tokens will be available for purchase at the booths, to be exchanged directly at the gazebos.
